How To Look Good Naked

Last Saturday I did a new presentation for the ladies at Eternity Church Midland. They asked me to speak at a high tea event they were having.

We now have a 6m screen available to use for presentations. This is especially good for Steve's photography.

My topic was not about being physically naked but about looking at our inner being to see what was inside and whether or not we can be beautiful when we look beyond the outer self.

Here are some of the ideas I spoke about:

If we strip away our
body image and looks, what is left? The real person inside-who we really are is
there.  Do we like who we see?

So, when we are naked
who do we see? Do we someone who cares about others or is selfish? Do we see
someone who is bitter or soft hearted and kind? Do we see someone we would like
to be our own best friend when we’re in a bind because they would be there when
we need them or just give us encouragement? Do we like and respect the person
inside ourselves? (Photo looking in mirror)

Today I want to focus
on 4 areas of beauty and share they have impacted my life and can impact
others. I’m not saying today that I have totally nailed this idea of beauty.
I’m still on the journey. It’s just that I’ve found that taking the focus off
the physical and looking at my character that I actually focus on others more
and as a result my life has expanded and become more beautiful. The areas we
are focusing on are:

Mercy+Love+Passion+Faith= Looking Good Naked

I went on to talk about mercy, love, passion and faith in my own life and how these have helped me to become the person I am today.

For example, I wouldn't go to Cambodia and work with the children and staff there without mercy, love, passion and faith.

Our mission in life  can be summed up by this quote from the Bible:

right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.’ Micah 6:8 (NLT)

This quote by Mother Teresa challenges us to love more:

<!--StartFragment-->

It is easy to
love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It
is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the
loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your
home for this is where our love for each other must start
.
Mother Teresa

Passion is essential in life and this is how I see it:

 If you have
something to believe in, hope in, live
in by you will have passion.

My faith is the most important part of my life and when all else is stripped away, it's what I'm left with.

Mercy Love Passion
Faith - all these things together are where we can be too beautiful. It’s not
about being pretty enough or good enough –it’s where we can live our lives in
just the right place of being able to receive those things we need from heaven.
God wants to kiss us. He wants to touch our lives and this is where heaven
kisses us.

So, wherever you are today, I hope that you feel Too Beautiful and feel like you can look good naked.
