Seize The Day

Yesterday I heard that a good friend has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She is having surgery and should be fine, however, I'm reminded once again that we must live each day as if it's our last.

What did you do today? Was it a day you are happy with? Did you do one thing that made your life seem worthwhile, joyful or meaningful?

Fall Foliage, Writers’ Conference, Washington and Broadway: Finding Creative Spaces

The last few weeks of travel in the USA have been inspiring and have left me feeling as if I have so much to write and so little time.

Fall Foliage

Beginning in Montreal and driving through Vermont and Maine, following the changing colours of fall was beautiful. Staying in an inn in Camden, Maine for a few days and experiencing life on the
coast was so relaxing. The sky had a golden tinge to it and, with the golds, reds and browns of the leaves, it created an idyll I didn’t want to end.

One Day I'll Write Like Tim Winton and Elizabeth Jolley

I have just registered a barcode/ISBN for Perfect Mercy, the first in the Beautiful Lives Series of novels for young adults.

I am planning to release the novel at the end of January in time for the new school year. It's taken longer than I thought but it was worth the rewrite. (Thanks to Anne Hamilton for the detailed critique.)

Too Beautiful Finalist In Caleb Prize

Too Beautiful is a finalist in the Caleb Prize. It's my first competition so very nice to have moved to the next stage. The winners will be announced on November 11-the day we get back from the US.
